The divine masculine and the divine feminine

The concept of the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine is a frequently discussed topic nowadays. However, it is often misunderstood and misused based on my personal observations. My understanding of these concepts is grounded in my perception of the universe's creation, where consciousness and matter/energy are the fundamental elements.

*Ardhanarishvara represents the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies of the universe, Purusha (consciousness) and Prakriti /shakti (energy&matter) and illustrates how Shakti, the female principle of God, is inseparable from Shiva, the male principle of God, and vice versa. The union of these principles is exalted as the root and womb of all creation

Consciousness, unmanifest and formless, pervades all things as the eternal witness, akin to the unmoving axis of a turning wheel. It provides direction, purpose, and will. On the other hand, manifest matter/energy represents life force, constantly changing and embodying emotions, desires, and feelings. It surrenders to the will of consciousness, embracing acceptance and openness.

The interplay of these elements forms a dynamic, where consciousness provides direction (the axis) and matter/energy embodies movement and creation (the wheel).

The divine masculine symbolizes the upright consciousness within us, offering witness and holding space. In contrast, the divine feminine represents the horizontal aspect of matter/energy, manifesting and creating in the world.

Both men and women possess inner masculine and feminine qualities.

Men might exhibit a stronger inner masculine (being less emotional and less involved in the creation of life), while women might display a more pronounced inner feminine (being creative, expressive, and surrendering easily to life). Understanding these dynamics is crucial in relationships. When one person embodies the feminine, the other naturally steps into the masculine role. For instance, a woman holding space for her vulnerable partner assumes the masculine role while he embraces the feminine.

However, the ultimate pursuit of harmony resides within each individual. We seek balance between our inner masculine and feminine aspects, yearning for completeness and fulfillment. Relationships serve as tools guiding us toward this delicate and beautiful equilibrium.

May this share be helpful in the dance between your inner feminine and inner masculine to serve each other in harmony and love.
